Bargaining 1/31/23

Greetings Members:

The ADTA Bargaining Team met today with the District’s Negotiations Team. Present for ADTA were Adam Contreras, Lisa Martinelli, Angelique Jolly, Debbie Mockler, ADTA President Jennifer Rader, Tammy Smith (taking notes), and Brian Todd from CTA. Present for the district were Carlos Moran, Alex Verdusco, Zachary Klemish, Kathryn Youskievcz, and Dana Curtis. 

ADTA countered the Article 12 salary proposal of 5% with 18.62 %. We countered their Status Quo proposals on stipends and hourly pay with a percentage of salary schedule placement. The Bargaining Team is hoping to discuss the remaining articles; 13 Health and Welfare, 15 Evaluations, 17 Duty Day, and 19 Class Size at the next scheduled meeting on 2/14/23.

Carlos Moran really pressed for the 24/25 Calendar which had been previously agreed to at the first Negotiations Meeting. Our Bargaining Chair Adam Contreras explained about the reluctance of our membership to vote on the proposal. After intense discussions our side agreed to hold the vote on the calendar as an act of Good Faith and contractual obligations. However, the District now understands that our members are very serious about being taken seriously and treated fairly. We will keep to the original agreement to vote on the calendar, as they will be held to agreements they have made
